Food & Drink

Racks Bar & Kitchen

Racks is one of the friendliest and most cosmopolitan eating and drinking venues in Bristol. The emphasis is firmly on a fun, relaxed atmosphere with table service and great food. It is the perfect place to hide away for an intimate afternoon in your own private space or join in the fun sharing a jumbo platter of nachos or watching sport on the big screen. The menu at Racks is great value for money and has something for everyone. It is complimented by a very reasonably priced wine list and the coldest pint of Stella in town. Set in the heart of Clifton, the terrace is one of the most exciting places for alfresco eating and drinking in Bristol. Enjoy the lunchtime sunshine with a cool glass of Pimm's and watch the world go by. When the sun drops for the day, the fully heated terrace comes into its own with soft lighting, cool tunes and, of course, great table service!

Food is served from 11am until 10.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 11am until 10pm on Sunday.

"A Clifton landmark since its inception in 1982, with a lively bar and popular patio complete with heaters for when the sun goes in. Draught lagers are Beck's Vier, Stella Artois (Bristol's coldest), Peeterman Artois, Hoegaarden and Eiken Artois, with permanent real ales Sharps Doombar and Butcombe Blonde joined by a changing Wickwar Brewery brew. Addlestones cider, too, plus around 16 wines and solid spirit offerings. Food is continental, with English faves and healthier options (with their calorific value stated on the menu). Friendly staff attend to you needs at table, and are pistols when it comes to refills." Venue 2008

Caffe Clifton

The recently launched Caffe Clifton on the ground floor serves a wide range of quality coffees, speciality teas, and a tasty selection of handmade cakes, all day long. Speciality offerings such as the Jasmine Teaball, where the hand-tied flower unfurls over a recommended brewing time of 3 minutes, and the award winning Lemon & Poppyseed cake, cannot be missed. A selection of Racks food is also available to order and eat in one of the most unique locations in Clifton.

Caffe Clifton is open from 8am until 8 pm.

"This celebration of coffee and cake, this tribute to tea, this brew boutique with stylish surroundings and bespoke suppliers - Clifton Coffee Company, Bar Cake and Attic Tea - create a genuine sense of occasion without formality. The spelling suggests Italy but the entrance's palm trees evoke Cannes, Ceylon brings a colonial feel, there's Americano among the coffees, the Island Rose teas are from the Bahamas while the garden's gravel, grass and blocky railway sleeper furniture lend a touch of Tokyo - and, of course, there's all the tea in China. When many are considering cutting back, this posh but fun place brings a little luxury at luxuriously little prices." Venue 2008
