The Bristol Bus Tour offers one of the best ways to see the city. Best of all – it leaves from directly outside the Rodney Hotel!
The Clifton Observatory
The Clifton Observatory stands at the hill just by the Clifton Suspension Bridge. It contains a Camera Obscura and the beautiful Giant’s Cave. The cave is 100 foot underground -136 steps down! - and at the bottom there is a viewing platform providing stunning views of the bridge, the city and the river Avon.
Ashton Court Estate
Owned by Bristol Council since 1959, the estate is now a major recreational area for Bristol and North Somerset. The current estate is about 850 acres of woodland and meadows containing woodland walks, deer parks and other wildlife as well as cycling tracks, a miniature railway and a golf course. Ashton Court also hosts Bristol’s annual Balloon Fiesta – a must see!
