Performing Arts

Live music, theatre, dance and comedy are always on offer in Bristol. The home-grown music scene has produced world class bands and artists such as Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky. From classical or rock concerts at the Colston Hall, to ballet, opera and musicals at the Hippodrome, or jazz, folk and comedy at a variety of pubs and clubs, the range is huge.

The Theatre Royal:

A gorgeous Georgian auditorium on the harbourside, home to the prestigious Old Vic theatre company. This venue has hosted large audiences since 1766 and offers an eclectic mix of performances.

The Hippodrome:
One of the Country's top provincial theatres. This is the stage for all the major West-End and Broadway musicals.

The Watershed:
Here you will find a lively programme of independent film, digital media, and events.

Colston Hall:
The City's largest concert hall. Presents touring opera and dance companies and some of the biggest names in pop.

St Georges:
Famed for its acoustics, this venue is nationally known for its excellence and diversity in jazz, classical, folk, world music and opera.

Days Out

Bristol Zoo Gardens, awarded ‘Zoo of the Year' by the Great Britain Guide 2004, is a fun day out and can be found just a stroll away from our hotels in the heart of Clifton.

Bath is one of the most beautiful cities in England and is right on our doorstep. This World Heritage Site, with its hot springs, Roman Baths and historic abbey, is simply stunning and a wonderful day out.

Cheddar Gorge & Caves have plenty to see and do, both above and below ground. The cathedral-like caves and Britain's biggest gorge are million year old ice-age river beds. This area of outstanding natural beauty is also where you can spend an afternoon sampling some of the tastiest Cheddar cheeses!
