Brunel's ss Great Britain is the world’s first great ocean liner. Launched in 1843 to provide luxury travel to New York, the iron-hulled steamship revolutionised travel and set new standards in engineering, reliability and speed.
Today Brunel's SS Great Britain, is one of the most exciting museums and visitor attractions in Bristol.
This Half-term the SS Great Britain will be taking a trip back in time to see how the first-class passengers enjoyed their luxurious trips on the SS.
Visitors can sample some of the “disgusting” delicacies engulfed by first-class passengers in the 1850s, 60s and 70s, and learn more about the similarities and differences between Victorian food and the things we eat today.

The food-tasting sessions will take place in the First-Class Dining Saloon on February 14, 16 and 18 at 12 noon and 2:30pm, and are included in admission prices.
