Balloon Fiesta time

Only 1 week until Bristol’s International Balloon Fiesta 2010. Will they top these favourites from 2009?  This distinctive tortoise and an homage to Pixar’s movie of the moment – Up!

Balloon releases are start with the special shapes at 6pm on Thursday (the ‘glorious’) 12^th August and are then scheduled for 6am and 6pm each day until Sunday 15^th.

Thursday and Saturday evenings see the highlight of the Fiesta – the night glows. A fantastic atmosphere is guaranteed as the balloons are light up in time to party tunes, before a spectacular firework display.

Oh and the Red Arrows will be displaying their skills on Sunday from 4.30pm too. I recommend the observatory near the Rodney Hotel and Suspension Bridge as a fantastic vantage point.

One thing to note – the Suspension Bridge is closed on the evenings of the night glows only.
