Family days out in Bristol
It’s coming up to the end of the Summer holidays and its around this time that you need something fun to do with the kids before they go back to school. But what is there to do I hear you cry! Well here are some recommendations.
There is nothing as good as the great outdoors, we all need some fresh air every now and again. Leigh Woods located just across the suspension bridge is quick to get to. There are many activities that you and your family can get involved with while there, including a “Family Woodland survival day” This is suitable for 5-16yr olds and involves learning how to light fires and building dens.
Another great location to visit is the Westbury-on-Trym Wildlife Park and located nearby is a great pottery painting and clay workshop studio called “Wot Pots”. An opportunity for you and your kids to get creative!
Keeping on the outdoors theme, how about going to a small farm or zoo? A chance for the kids to learn about animals and the farming process, “Windmill Hill City Farm” is located in Bedminster. As well as the farm and gardens, they also have an on-site café and outside play area for the kids to run off some energy!
With many different animals from elephants and rhinos, to tigers and birds of prey, “Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm” has a lot to offer. There are heaps of events happening throughout the month, hands on interaction and both indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds so your kids will have something to do no matter what the weather.
Being the British summer it will probably rain a lot over the next few weeks, so here are some of my recommendations. The classic fun day out at @bristol is a must do for me, anything involving science is going to be fun. There is also Jungle Rumble adventure golf which is located on the top floor Cabot circus. Lots of fun, golf AND a climbing wall!
These are just a few placed to go with the family, there are of course many more. Have fun with the family for the last few days of the holiday!
Make a whole weekend of it and come and stay with us!
