These were no ordinary gorillas of course.
They had arrived to the City bringing colour and creativity, decorated vibrantly - they certainly were the life and soul of the summer in Bristol.
This year will be no acceptation. From the 1st July & 7th September 2013, Bristol has a new colourful character joining its streets.
One of Bristol’s most famous duos will be unleashed across the City in a public art exhibition. One of Ardman Animations creations, Gromit, from Wallace and Gromit.
70 of these giant 5ft sculptures of Gromit will be carefully & originally hand painted by invited artists which will create a trail of Gromit’s around the City.
The rich tapestry of culture, community and creativity sets Bristol apart from other cities and this art exhibition highlights the greatness of the City.
Of course this unique event isn’t just for aesthetic pleasures, all proceeds from the sales of the 70 Gromits will go to Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, raising money for Bristol Children’s Hospital, one of only a few specialist children’s hospitals in the UK.
The sculptures will be sold at the end of September but just by taking part in the Gromit trail you can help raise awareness of the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
