The Torch Lights Up Bristol

 

Clifton Hotels Bristol are very excited this month as Bristol city centre will be proud to host the Olympic Flame as it enter the city on the fourth day of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay!

Leaving Lands End in Cornwall on Saturday May 19th, the Olympic Flame will make its epic 70-day journey around the UK and hit Bristol on Tuesday 22nd!

Tuesday 22nd May

The torch will arrive in Bristol on Tuesday 22nd May, arriving from Bath into Longwell Green at 17:25. From here it will travel via Hanham, St George, Lawrence Hill, Old Market, Castle Park and Welsh Back, before arriving into the Harbourside on the Aiming High Power Boat at 7pm to begin the evening celebrations. Fans of funk and soul music and everyone who enjoys the cutting-edge, alternative dance music scene will be flocking to Bristol’s Millennium Square at 8.00pm.

 

 

Wednesday 23rd May

Bright and early on Wednesday 23rd May, just before 6am, the torch will begin its journey once more - starting at the Council house and College Green, before passing through Millenium Square and through Hotwells. From here it will travel out of the city to Flax Bourton, Backwell Farleigh, Backwell West Town, Nailsea, Failand and Leigh Woods, before crossing over the beautiful Clifton Suspension Bridge at 07:53 and travelling into Clifton, along the Downs and up towards Southmead and then Filton.

 

For this occasion our fantastic venue – No.4 Restaurant – will be providing some hearty breakfasts for those Bristol goers watching the flame travel over the Clifton Suspension Bridge!
