THE BERKELEY SQUARE - CHARIOTS OF FIRE

Congratulations to David, Assistant Manager at the Berkeley Square Hotel for running the Bristol half marathon in record time. A valiant effort! An even greater effort will probably be needed to collect the sponsorship money from sceptical colleagues who thought he would never make it! Just remember, all the money collected goes to the Bristol Kids charity.

THE SQUARE BAR AND RESTAURANT

...is now open after a complete re-design and refurbishment. Serious followers of fashion take note - the new décor is absolutely not-to-be-missed. The latest in contemporary design provides a brilliant sky blue over head, and beneath, cutting-edge lighting, which soars from floor to ceiling. There’s a new and exciting approach to the menu too, with the Private Members party on 18th September, the waiting list has already begun to grow. Brainchild of debonair, man-about-town, Beau Smith – this is certainly a first for Bristol! To enquire about membership or to get on the guest list email clubdave01@yahoo.com.

Ballon Festival

STRIKE A LIGHT!

Two intrepid divers off the coast of Devon made an interesting discovery last month. Mooching along the seabed, they noticed a glimmer of white twinkling on a rock. Much to their amazement it was a Racks lighter! One of those smart black-lettered ones bearing the legend “Racks Restaurant – the place to eat”, (R.P. £1). Back on dry land and, “heavens to Betsey!” they discovered the lighter was still working! Who says they don't make 'em like they used to?
